Columbine Colorado Ghost town

Ever wanted to rent a whole town?  Here is your chance. Spend the weekend in a gold miner’s cabin. Gold from the Tom Thumb and the Royal Flush fueled a mini stampede called the Columbine Stampede to the Hahns Peak area in 1881. The town was situated on the stage route from Steamboat springs to Laramie. It had a school, general store, saloon and numerous cabins. Many still standing and remodeled for your visit. James Caron founded the town and laid out the original plots. He lived in the area and was a prominent citizen of the town for years.

Nearby Dead Mexican Park holds the secrets of a two grisly murder. A story that proves drinking and gambling may not mix.
